Plan Your Place Survey

The purpose of this survey is to better understand how Glamorgan as a community can meet the planning challenges of the future.

1. How long have you lived in Glamorgan?

2. What is your vision for the future of Glamorgan?

3. What issues stand in the way of your vision? What changes do you want to see?

4. What opportunities already exist to help achieve your vision?/ What do you like or do not want to see changed?

5. Think about walking through your favourite community areas; shopping areas and public spaces. What makes those spaces successful and what could we apply from those areas to Glamorgan?

6. Are there spaces or areas where change should be focused in Glamorgan?

7. What needs attention in Glamorgan?

8. What is important to you about Glamorgan that doesn’t need change?

9. What are possible changes that could make Glamorgan even more livable, accessible and enjoyable in the next 10, 15, 20 or 25 years?

Crime Prevention Tips

This is the time of year when some of you are heading to warmer climates to escape our long winter. Ensure that you are not advertising your absence – here are some simple tips to increase the security of our home:-if Block Watch is active in your neighbourhood, you may choose to use your block map to inform your neighbours on either side and behind your home of the dates you will be away, and ask them to keep any eye out for suspicious persons on your property; encourage them to call the police at 911 if they see a crime in progress, or at 403-266-1234 if they are at all concerned. -be sure to make arrangements to have mail and newspapers picked up, and sidewalks shoveled.-put some lights and a radio on timers; some newer model TV’s also have a timer feature.To receive periodic messages from the Calgary Police Service alerting you by phone of criminal acts occurring in your area, or requesting public assistance in cases such as a missing child, you can register online for the Police and Community Awareness Program (PCAP): go to www.calgarypolice.ca, click on “Community Services” along the top bar, and scroll down the options.
